PC media censoring wave of Muslim rapes of Swedish girls

Quote: Swedish girls Malin and Amanda were on their way to a party on New Year’s Eve when they were assaulted, raped and beaten half to death by four Somali immigrants. Sweden’s largest newspaper has presented the perpetrators as “two men from Sweden, one from Finland and one from Somalia”, a testimony as to how bad the informal censorship is in stories related to immigration in Sweden. Similar incidents are reported with shocking frequency, to the point where some observers fear that law and order is completely breaking down in the country. The number of rape charges in Sweden has tripled in...

Socialist Dependant Trampoline Bear Dies

Socialist Dependant Trampoline Bear Dies Quote: Bears are by nature 99 percenters. They are not rich, they grab what they can where they can and they just want to get along and raise their bear families. Occasionally misfortune befalls them and a safety net is needed - as happened to our Boulder, Colorado bear, who found himself disadvantaged and stranded in a tree. Fortunately, the state had its safety net, in the form of a trampoline, standing by. When our Boulder bear finally gave up on life and dropped from the tree, he was saved by the government trampoline, albeit with a few bumps and...

New E-Mail Password, Thunderbird Hangs

I looked at this thread before deciding to post. I thought that OP's method was a bit too draconian I am having the exact same problem - new e-mail password, Thunderbird recognizes that, but does not recover so I can enter my new password. I have done the following: 1. Tried Safe Mode. No joy. 2. Forced Thunderbird to close. 3. Rebooted (yeah, I'm running Windows 7). 4. Found and inspected my profile. I found two sets of directories -- myoriginal and myoriginal-1 . The directory structure concluded with -1 contained newer entries. I combined the two sets of directories and deleted what I did...

[SOLVED]refresh rate too high for moniter

After installing gentoo, I turned it on and booted into gentoo. When I started it, I saw some text and then the text disappeared and then my moniter came with an error message. The error message was "Out of range". My monitor is a ViewSonic VA902b. Is there anyway to configure gentoo to boot with a selected refresh rate and resolution? A cynical process

Labor unions, like the United Nations, are all too often judged by what they are envisioned as being -- not by what they actually are or what they actually do. Quote: Many people, who do not look beyond the vision or the rhetoric to the reality, still think of labor unions as protectors of working people from their employers. And union bosses still employ that kind of rhetoric. However, someone once said, "When I speak I put on a mask, but when I act I must take it off." That mask has been coming off, more and more, especially during the Obama administration, and what is revealed underneath is...

What makes PAM unwanted?

Uhm... the title is a little too... wait, IIRC the developers of UNIX authentication themselves advised against PAM as they found that system insecure or not as secure as it should. Or was it FreeBSD maintainers...? Anyway I remember I read there were fellows (whose opinion looked quite enlightened to me) who would never put/advise PAM on their distribution and would instead keep using UNIX legacy authentication, i.e. a hashed password in a flat file. Rather than messing around who could have said that, I'd like to know what PAM features could make it less desirable than UNIX plain...

Linux Format Magazine pulled from U.S shelves.

Hi everyone, People probably already know about this but I only came across it today. The February 2012 issue of Linux Format magazine got pulled from shelves of Barnes and Noble in the U.S because of the cover article. More information is below. What do you guys think about this? ... _________________ "If you are new to UNIX, you may be used to clicking something and seeing either an "OK" message, an error, nothing, or (all too often) a pretty blue screen with nifty high-tech letters' explaining exactly where the system crashed" - Michael Lucas

Lots of questions for different topics. Stations, ST's, Stock xchange, board, andmore

Ok, to begin with, this is my first post so forgive me if a lot of stuff has been answered before, also I am a newish player so forgive me if i ask simple things or do not fully understand. I've looked but can only find more advanced discussions of the topics which leave out a lot of the more simple things that I am missing. Also, this is for Albion Prelude. Also I am doing the bankrupt assassin play-through, so no paranid or boron help, and most of this is taking place near the aladna hill area. So first up is a problem i seem to have with Sector Traders. I realize this has been posted many...

Postscript scaling and translation

I have a document I'd like to print, it's in ps format. The author left far too much white space around text therefore I want to get rid of the white space and print 2 pages per sheet with human readable font size. I managed to scale the pages to the right size but the white space is scaled too, resulting in a conspicuous part of the text going out of the page when I open the ps file with kpdf (which cuts at A4 size). Does anyone know a program like psresize to translate ps files and center them?

SeaMonkey Mail menubar icons

Hello Where (what file) are the definitions of the icons in the Mail menu bar? In version 2.9.1 which I just installed those which have a down arrow to open a sub-menu ('Receive', 'Write new' and 'Forward' - I don't know if those are the right terms, I have the French version) behave badly: the zone which corresponds to the down arrow is much too large and to perform the action directly (without opening menu) it is necessary to click very far away from the arrow. I want to redefine the zones which open the sub-menus to be just the small rectangles which contain the arrows in their circles....

Time: As Small a President as He Can Be

Quote: Woodrow Wilson once said the President "is at liberty, both in law and conscience, to be as big a man as he can." In his re-election bid, President Obama is determined to be as small as he can be. He's gone from vaporous uplift in 2008 to dreary minutiae in 2012. Listening to him on the stump, you would have no idea that the economy is sunk in a subpar recovery and the nation's balance sheet is deep in the red, let alone that the welfare state is in crisis throughout the Western world. The President's approach amounts to fiddling while Athens burns, or at least defaults. There is no...

Looks like I've got a dead system.

It was an original Athlon 64, so can't complain too much. Probably not worth troubleshooting unless it looks to be a disk / fs issue. I also have an Athlon II x4 640 that needs a new motherboard (2nd memory channel is wonky). So, what motherboard recommendations for the 640? No gaming necessary. _________________ Safety is my gaol.
