[RESOLVED]my ebuild wont fetch sourceI wrote an ebuild but it doesn't seem to fetch the source. When I try to run the ebuild it seems to skip that part, unpack (nothing?) into the /var/tmp/.../work/ directory, complain about /var/tmp/.../work/ being empty and then stops. Also when I run ebuild ... fetch it just tells me the hashes are ok but then /usr/portage/distfiles is empty. Fighting tips please. Destroy Q in Khaak Corvette?Well as the heading says, I need help in destroying (or even better, capping) a Q. So to all you ace fighter pilots out there (and there must be many of you) could you please help me out. Acquired new laptop (P200 w/ 32mb RAM) - HELPWant to put gentoo on it... it has a cd-rom drive that it can boot from and it has a floppy drive as well. doesnt have a nic though. might have to find a pcmcia nic for it, i dunno. anyone know of any that work with linux (not wireless) and on a piece of hardware this old? my main concern is the 32mb of ram and the 2gb hard drive. if i put gentoo on it, the install will take a good gig and a half. from my experiences, that's usually what i have after installing xfree and a gui (*box guis, nothing heavy). how can i avoid this? i'd like to run a cli only box, but i'd like a gui for simple...

Far too long. Albion Prelude just reinstalled. Old controls from X3TC all gone. AdvicI've played X3TC back in the heyday when X: Rebirth didnt even exist to the public eye. As with everything in life, my time for the game waned and other stuff came up. Encrypting a RAID1Hi guys, I've been googling a little about this and didn't find a good answer. I want to create a hardware RAID1 with two disks and later encrypt this RAID with (maybe) TrueCrypt. The problem comes, what will happen if one of the hard drives fail? Will everything regenerate just fine if I just replace the broken hdd (no need to re-do encryption or anything similar)? I'd appreciate any tips from experienced users on how to make this even more successfully. Acquired new laptop (P200 w/ 32mb RAM) - HELPIt's a p200 w/ 32mb of RAM and a 2gb hard disk. i bought the x86 2-disc set from gentoo but i have a few problems... usually, when i install gentoo, i end up with about a gig of software on my hard drive (even after cleaning all the distfiles out and other areas - i think). so after the install, there goes half my disk space. is there a way to combat this? my other option was to put slackware on it, but i don't much care for slack's packaging system (i'm so in love with portage). i'd like to run a cli only workstation, but i'm afraid i'd need SOME gui stuff (*box, no kde or gnome -- too heavy)...

Yet more station woesHi all, as you may already know, I've played quite a lot of AP so far, but I've not really stuck with one game for long. See, I like the sandbox aspect of the game, but can never quite decide what to do with it.
