[solved] Imaging or other backup means of "fake" RAID?

Trying to get some general advice on the best way to go about backing up a "fake" RAID array. I'll take whatever means I can, but I'd prefer an imaging solution as opposed to just simple file duplication. It would also be nice if any provided solutions can backup Windows partitions on the same array. If I have to use two different apps or methods to accomplish both Windows and Linux images I will but I'd prefer an all in one deal if at all possible. I've been searching and reading around and from what I understand Clonezilla is not capable of imaging partitions on a fake RAID? I typically use...

Removing Unsorted Bookmarks folder (FF 12) ?

A couple of years ago in like FF 6 I remember going through some process to get that awful undeletable "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder off of the bottom of my Bookmarks dropdown. Now, though, I'm on a new laptop (running Windows 7 Home Premium, ver. 6.1), with a fresh install of FF 12. I tried to create one for myself, but my codefu is essentially nonexistent, and I couldn't tell if I was doing it wrong or if the new version of Firefox just doesn't register userChrome.css. All of the info I can find on this forum and elsewhere about how to do it involves editing userChrome.css, but there's no such...

Latest Firefox version

Maybe i'm missing the point here but when FF was running, l went into Task Manager to look at process usage and there were two entries for Firefox.exe and Plugin-container both of which were way off the scale. FF was 123,52....k and Plugin Container was 250,70....k both of which are totally unacceptable. Switched back to IE and got some sensible results. Then switched back again to FF which showed 78,022k, and Plugin Container showed 4,820k. I switched from IE to FF to speed things up, which l suppose it did do in the beginning, but am now having second thoughts. IE never used that much ram to...

Some advice for new folks and old :) re second Aran (Spoiler Alert)

Okay, this relates to X3TC Vanilla. I thought I would post this advice as I have just wasted nearly 2 hrs or so capping my second Aran, by not being properly prepared. Okay, use your first Aran to do the UFJD and have docked how ever many ships you want but make sure you have one docked which can use the Tractor beam ( this is what I forgot to have with me ). Vidar is a good choice here. Also don't forget you will need an M7M of your choice also docked, with nicely trained marines. Once you find your second Aran, I was lucky here took 5 jumps. Clear the sector of any Xenon that want your blood...

X3 Q about Gamersgate and Steam

Hi Folks I am playing my way through X2 at the min and already thinking ahead to X3. I bought X3 Gold on Gamersgate some time ago (it now also includes Albion Prelude which is cool) I will be playing Reunion next. My question is: Can I use the key codes from GG on Steam? If so should I do that…or just download it from GG. Would there be any difference? Would there any advantage or any point in downloading from steam? I suppose I am thinking of patches etc which I understand are applied automatically and correctly by steam…in other words the game is maintained in the most up to date form. Any...

Nvidia-driver crashes, how to debug?

Hi, I'm here to look for some advice and help. I have a Dell L502X (XPS 15), with a optimus nvidia card, and running some 3D programs, the nvidia driver can crash. I have been trying to debug this for some time now, and I'm _very_ sure it is not because of the optirun/bumblebee implementation, wine, or kernel configuration. (since the same crash exists also in windows.). What I need to fully determine is: Is this crash due to: Hardware failure, or a "feature" in both the linux and windows driver. What I want help with is to determine which it is, and how to convince Dell or nVidia, that this...

Database Advice

I've officially decided that I hate MySQL and Postgres has some extra steps that tend to get annoying. Side note: I read an interesting article about postgres vs mysql where postgres may be 2-3x slower it can support 3-4x as many connections as mysql... I use both at the moment... I think I want to change to something else completely. I haven't really heard much about any other databases. What do you use and why? _________________ Steve - Semper Fi slbmeh Development slbmeh Web Hosting I play this browser game.

CPU policy & thermal problem [Solved]

Hi Forum! I am hoping for some insight into my latest problem: I can't get my laptop's CPU to run at full speed when the battery is removed. That said, the whole reason I remove my battery is so that my laptop doesn't overheat and die (or trip a thermal sensor and shut itself down abruptly). Neither cpufreq-set nor writing directly to /sys settings will enable me to set the freq to 2.4Ghz. But I don't see any errors in the logs or stdout. Advice would be greatly appreciated! Here's the crux: Code: hal-lappy ~ # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/bios_limit 1600000

Reuters is guilty of doing some actual journalism

George Zimmerman: Prelude to a shooting Quote: (Reuters) - A pit bull named Big Boi began menacing George and Shellie Zimmerman in the fall of 2009. The first time the dog ran free and cornered Shellie in their gated community in Sanford, Florida, George called the owner to complain. The second time, Big Boi frightened his mother-in-law's dog. Zimmerman called Seminole County Animal Services and bought pepper spray. The third time he saw the dog on the loose, he called again. An officer came to the house, county records show. "Don't use pepper spray," he told the Zimmermans, according to a...

TB not forwarding all emails

Hi there. Looking for some help! I have TB 10.0.2 running on Win 7 Pro. I have Filters setup so that certain emails get forwarded to certain email addresses. They are not complicated filters (just from and subject filters) and 90-95% of the time the filters work perfectly, but its the 5-10% that don't go through that are becoming very frustrating. My forwarding setting was already set to INLINE so that is not the issue. At first, I thought it was just a filter issue but this also happens when I try to manually forward an email. 1 out of ever 10-15 tries it will just not send. I then hit cancel...
