R*censored* can't handle the truth about Bin LadenQuote: When McCain noted that President Obama criticized Hillary Clinton's "invoking on bin Laden," McCain was right. And so did I at the time. But here's the big difference: the president isn't using bin Laden to scare us. The Republicans only ever used 9/11, bin Laden and terrorism to scare people into voting for them . This is fearmongering. It's the flagrant exploitation of both a tragedy and the threat of an on-the-loose maniac to trick voters into supporting Republican policies for no other reason than to ameliorate their irrational fear. The president, on the other hand, isn't telling...

[wswartzendruber] Obama attack dogs go after RushWord has it that Media Matters (the White House-directed, Democrat-funded "media watchdog" (read attack dog, and propagandist) run by an insane man who makes Andrew Breitbart seem like mom) is taking out radio ads in every major city talking about his "slut" remark and telling listeners to inundate radio stations will calls demanding his show be taken off the air. They hope to put to intimidate and silence him, at least for the campaign season, by getting listeners to demand their local radio stations stop carrying his show. They also hope to keep this fabricated, red-herring "issue" of...

GrrrrrrHello, I am trying to run firefox after needing to reinstall windows. Googling has shown some into on finding the Profile files and moving them from the old to new location. However I must have mucked up as every attempt to fun Firefox now says Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system. This happens even after a roboot. I can re-install Firefox, but may have the same problem. Maybe someone could supply the right instructions for this as it must help thousands of users. I also want to do the...

Thunderbird 12. Links in received emails don't workMy wife's desktop. Thunderbird and Firefox. Clicking on a link in an email does not work. The link does show in the bottom info bar. Firefox is set as the default browser. htm and html are associated to Firefox. Does not work in safe mode. Used to work--don't know when it stopped working. This scares me, because my research on this issue shows that it is common. I have tried all of the fixes I saw while web reading--none worked. Has anyone defined the true cause and fix for this?

Rick Santorum ... just go away.Rick Santorum ... just go away. Quote: There has always been something about Rick Santorum that put me off a bit … scared me. I’ve referred to him here and on the air many times as a theocrat, and there has always been something a little creepy with the intensity of his desire to control the reproductive processes of women. Well it seems that someone has come up with a little video of Santorum addressing some gathering. There’s a question and answer session going on, and Santorum is getting a bit peeved at some of the questions. Been there; done and understand that. A lot of people will ask...

Firefox isn't displaying properlySomething I did on this PC yesterday, either running windows updates, updating to Firefox 11 or cleaning trash and tidying the registry with System Mechanic has really messed Firefox up on this system. Pages of many websites are lacking backgrounds, are in the 'default' font and display like uncoded amateur websites. A lot of buttons and links on many sites are broken. It isn't remembering my passwords. It's basically wrecked. And its just this system, the other system that shares this connection is fine, survived the Windows updates and update to Firefox 11. I haven't done the trash and...

New n Gentoo.Greetings, I'm a little scared with Gentoo. I've always had a passion for Linux, i started with Ubuntu, Debian and my last distro was ArchLinux. Actually, I never quite understand how Linux works,so, i try to use Gentoo and spend hours reading the entire manual, I love it. I want to thank the Gentoo distro (all of you) for this distro. Very good distro and hobbie.

When are you no longer a n00b?I have been working with Linux for years, and Gentoo for about three months now, and just now feel that I have reached that point of comfort, when I'm not scared of that unknown error anymore, and want more from everything. Backstory; I'm an IT consultant and pc-repair tech with a lifetime of knowledge and expeareance with all things electronic and computer-esque. I have owned my own "complete tech solutions" business for about five years now, and am just coming to the painful realization that a jack of all trades is a master of none. I try to learn a little bit of everything, but often fail...

Last Known WWI Vet Dies at 110Last Known WWI Vet Dies at 110 Quote: LONDON — Florence Green, the world's last known veteran of World War I, has died at the age of 110, the care home where she lived said Tuesday. Briar House Care Home in King's Lynn, England, said Green died Saturday, two weeks before her 111th birthday. Born Florence Beatrice Patterson in London on Feb. 19, 1901, she joined the Women's Royal Air Force in September 1918 at the age of 17.
