Linux Process Control Question

My wife likes to run Facebook flash games in Firefox. Her computer is starting to show its age. Flash crashes regularly, sending the CPU to 100% and making the system completely unusable. This never resolves itself, leaving the only option being a hard reset. I know flash is garbage... I'm not really looking for a solution for flash. Rather, I'd like to contain the problem. I Googled a bit and found suggestions for using renice on /usr/lib/firefox/plugin-container. However, once the problem hits, I can't access it. If I could, I'd just kill the process. I also found suggestions to use...

Firefox 12 and adobe flash player

I have read some queries raised by others but have a problem I cannot resolve. Running ff12 and downloaded latest release of adobe flashplayer. Go to Youtube and it plays videos OK for a while or until I reboot. Then Adobe is not recognised as installed and will not again play video until I use the adobe uninstal utility then reload adobe flash player and again repeat the whole cycle every time I reboot. Also Adobe Flash player is shown in FF addins as Shockwave player?? Is this the same program?? This all seemed to happen after installing latest version of Adobe flashplayer, I think but it...

Writing a driver (or paying someone to do so)

I have a Mark of the Unicorn MIDI Express XT. This has no driver for Linux, but I no longer use Windows for anything except games, and I do not have or wish to acquire a Mac. I like to use what I have if I can, so... what would it take to get someone to write or reverse-engineer a driver? What could I expect to pay someone to do this? I would really like to use this interface in my Linux audio setup when I run out of ports on my AMT8. If a reasonable payment is beyond my means, do you think someone would do it for the fame? I believe there are quite a few people who would benefit from this, so...

[Rtaints] are responsible for flirting with default

... Quote: The Rtaints have really gone of the rails. It's a cult. If you stray, and seem to be friendly to the enemy, you will have no future in the party. Given our structure in government, that's a formula for dysfunction.

Sending messages failed - mail/newsgroup settings

Around every second message I send, I get this error: "Sending message failed. Please verify that mail & newsgroup account settings are correct and try again." I've looked searched through the threads on this topic, but none are very helpful. Only real 'solution' I found was to enable folder compaction, and that's already been enabled. ... I notice on here it mentions the error as well; but no word on a solution (for what it's worth, I haven't been pressing 'Cancel' in the middle of sending my messages). It's getting really frustrating, sometimes people end up with 3 or 4 copies of the same...

Firefox Process won't End

Hello, I've been having an issue recently, where when I close Firefox, the process remains active and will only end when I physically kill the process from the task manager. I've no idea why this has started to happen. I've been reading all over the internet on how to resolve this and tried everything but it just won't end on it's own. I've also tried all different kinds of spyware scanners and my own Kaspersky suite and nothing was found at all, apart from some tracking cookies but everyone gets them... I'm at my wits end and have no idea where to go from here. I really need it to start...

2.9.1. Path to profile?

I have upgraded Seamonkey many times, and have had to copy the contents of my current profile into a new one created by Profile Manager. I've recently had some computer trouble, copied everything to an external drive, did a wipe of the drive, and (finally!) installed Windows 7 rather than the hateful Vista. Only now I can't find a way into the file structure. When I am logged into my desktop, I have used the path to the computer view, chosen the C: drive and attempted to look at the file through the Users folder (which always worked before), through the Program files, I've peeked into the...

Always giving pop up, warning : unresponsive script, And too often not working when clear browsing histories after i finished my session. Really..i never undersatand why Firefox not develop their new version with FF...

Good Thing I'm a Certified Project Manager

Ok, so I've been playing TC for about 115 hours. I've played around with a couple of station complexes that are really just multiple iterations of one factory, and decided that I wanted to place a complex money maker of my own. I just stopped playing after hours of effort to get it going and I'm still not there. This game has just floored me at the degree of planning it takes to pull these big efforts off. I've run software projects that require less effort. My goal was to establish a missile plex that could make money, and I borrowed a design from one of deca.death's threads. Once I found...
