Linux Process Control Question

My wife likes to run Facebook flash games in Firefox. Her computer is starting to show its age. Flash crashes regularly, sending the CPU to 100% and making the system completely unusable. This never resolves itself, leaving the only option being a hard reset. I know flash is garbage... I'm not really looking for a solution for flash. Rather, I'd like to contain the problem. I Googled a bit and found suggestions for using renice on /usr/lib/firefox/plugin-container. However, once the problem hits, I can't access it. If I could, I'd just kill the process. Images don't load completely

Before I start explaining, here's an image: ... For some reason, Firefox doesn't load this image completely. I have tried refreshing the image many times over, clearing the cache using Tools > Clear Recent History > Clear Now - with everything tick marked, starting Firefox in safe mode, restarting my pc, but it doesn't load. This is not even the only image that has shown this problem. A few other images have done this in the past, with a common characteristic among them being a large size. Funny thing is that it doesn't work in Internet Explorer either. I've even tried using it in another pc...

Firefox 12 and adobe flash player

I have read some queries raised by others but have a problem I cannot resolve. Running ff12 and downloaded latest release of adobe flashplayer. Go to Youtube and it plays videos OK for a while or until I reboot. Then Adobe is not recognised as installed and will not again play video until I use the adobe uninstal utility then reload adobe flash player and again repeat the whole cycle every time I reboot. New E-Mail Password, Thunderbird Hangs

I looked at this thread before deciding to post. I thought that OP's method was a bit too draconian I am having the exact same problem - new e-mail password, Thunderbird recognizes that, but does not recover so I can enter my new password. [X3AP] Teladi stock exchange doesnt count my cargo.

Hi, I want to use the Teladi stock exchange in PTNI HQ to buy and sell Nividium shares. my ship has 1253 units of it and the supply number in the stock market is 1248. I thought that was odd but went and bought the shares anyway. when I ejected my Nividium (and even when out of the stock markets influence range) the supply and demand didnt change and so the index number stayed the same as it was when I bought the share while holding over 1200 units of Nividium in my cargo. Why isnt the stock exchange counting my Nividium cargo?( this only happened with Nividium for I tried the spacefuel before...

Hi everyone, I have a gentoo/tor/xchat/sasl/freenode related problem and by the process of elimination have narrowed it down to a gentoo/tor problem (because my ubuntu/tor/xchat/sasl/freenode setup works). Sending messages failed - mail/newsgroup settings

Around every second message I send, I get this error: "Sending message failed. Please verify that mail & newsgroup account settings are correct and try again." I've looked searched through the threads on this topic, but none are very helpful. Only real 'solution' I found was to enable folder compaction, and that's already been enabled. ... Even Debian testing has moved to 4.7, but it's been AGES since Gentoo is stuck at 4.5.
