The Hindenburg’s Smoking Lounge... Quote: The Hindenburg’s smoking room was thus a necessary concession to global travelers who could book a first-class cabin on the greatest ocean liner ever built (even to this day), the Normandie, at no more than half the price. Guillaume de Syon, author of a standard book on the zeppelins, points out that the room was extremely popular and travelers would otherwise have been oppressively bored, at least when no land was in sight. An open pack of premium cigarettes was thus a centerpiece of Hindenburg advertisements. Should the passengers have been worried? The hydrogen-buoyed airship had...

Light Table... Seems like a neat idea. I especially like the idea of having parameter values filled in and visible during the coding process throughout the entire program. Though I will say that the biggest thing going for this concept is the presentation I don't see it as all that different from what Emacs does. Not that this is a bad thing, it just means that Emacs is way ahead of most IDE's when it comes to integration with Lisp particularly Emacs-Lisp. _________________ Ware wa mutekinari. A cynical processLabor unions, like the United Nations, are all too often judged by what they are envisioned as being -- not by what they actually are or what they actually do. Quote: Many people, who do not look beyond the vision or the rhetoric to the reality, still think of labor unions as protectors of working people from their employers. And union bosses still employ that kind of rhetoric. However, someone once said, "When I speak I put on a mask, but when I act I must take it off." That mask has been coming off, more and more, especially during the Obama administration, and what is revealed underneath is...

Preview Pane for secondary tabs not workingI have several tabs open, Inbox, Send, Shipping, Leads, etc and open and close tabs all day. I have been doing this for a while now. If I leave TBird (Version 12.0.1) open for a while, the preview pane will only work for the first tab. This has to labelled as a bug. When I close and relaunch TB, issue goes away. Anyone else able to replicate this?

Many tabs open, can't move to end tabI constantly work with 30-40 tabs open. Something happened a few weeks ago. Now, after a boot, it will work properly for a day or two and then I cannot hit the left arrow or right arrow to go to the first or last tab. I can click the arrow and it will advance clumsily but then will hang before I get there and will NOT go to the end tab. I can reboot and it works. For another day or two. I can click the Down arrow and see a list of all tabs and choose the first or last but that is not what I want to do sometimes.

Lots of questions for different topics. Stations, ST's, Stock xchange, board, andmoreOk, to begin with, this is my first post so forgive me if a lot of stuff has been answered before, also I am a newish player so forgive me if i ask simple things or do not fully understand. I've looked but can only find more advanced discussions of the topics which leave out a lot of the more simple things that I am missing. Also, this is for Albion Prelude. Also I am doing the bankrupt assassin play-through, so no paranid or boron help, and most of this is taking place near the aladna hill area. So first up is a problem i seem to have with Sector Traders. I realize this has been posted many...

A revision of timekeepingHi there, Since I know how to read the time, I've been wondering why we divide the day into 24 hours of 60 minutes of 60 seconds (although americans and british may find this unusually convenient). Well, this is because our timekeeping system is several thousand years old and was inherited by the babylonians, who used a base 60 (sexagesimal) number system, although they didn't really use radix points or zeroes yet. Although the number 60 is highly divisible, in our decimal-thinking world it's a pain in the ass and having 24 instead of 60 hours makes this system even in base 60 inconvenient for...

X3AP terran rep.Hi, I started to play the argon plot and when to the first sectors. I fought a few terran fighters did some damage but didnt kill any, my rep still fell but they're still blue. The problem now is I cant land on their stations and dont see any mission signs on their sectors and I want to improve my rep with them before I continue the plot. Is there an effective way for that? do I kill argon or Xeon in their space to get it to rise enough so that I get missions?

[Answered] CUDA General QuestionsI'm building a new rig with a Geforce GTX 560. I'm curious to know more about CUDA and it's application in Gentoo. Coming from a newbie perspective, my initial impression was, "Maybe I can use CUDA with GCC for faster compiles?", however, I don't know if that is ACTUALLY the case or not. Can gcc utilize CUDA for compilations? How does CUDA work if you're running something that is utilizing the GPU? What is required to make use of CUDA? Just the CUDA toolkit and nvidia drivers? What else does the common man do that can make use of CUDA? EDIT: I just took a look at ... and it LOOKS like at first...
