[ solved ]Updateing Gentoo- first timeI've had Gentoo for a few months and haven't updated yet, so i thought I'd give it a shot. Ran "emerge --sync && emerge -uDN world" and got a warning saying that "Error: The above package list contains packages which cannot be * installed at the same time on the same system. Boot up screenWhen I installed, configured and used the "nouveau" graphic driver for my nvidia card, I noticed 4 tux on top of my screen when I boot up Gentoo. Also noticed the change in resolution for the text. I recently changed it to the proprietary drivers instead (nvidia-driver) and since then all of those features are gone. Thunderbird Freezes upon openingHello, My TB has gone into a continues freeze mode. I use Mac OSX 10.7.3 and the latest release of Thunderbird 10 Here is what happens. I open Thunderbird, and the window opens, I shows two tabs, one with my inbox and one with the what's new in Thunderbird since the recent update. Sometimes this page loads and sometimes it freezes right here with a spinning ball of death. No Sound In FlashI have no sound in Flash, but it works perfectly for everything else. Until recently it (sometimes) worked. Now it doesn't work at all. mplayer, amarok, audacity, etc etc all work under phonon/alsa but Flash gives me no sound at all, in any browser. The video part plays fine but I have no sound. If I run firefox from a terminal then I don't see any errors either. Code: ... Changing the account colourHi, is there a way to change the account colour when new messages arrive? ie what class do I need to specify, to change the text colour of the account name. So people don't reply with "which text are you talking about" I have attached a jpg, so it is *not* any of the folders in the folderPane, I know how to change the colour of those using the userChrome.css for unreadMessages-true, newMessages-true etc, but the account name *itself*, ie the text that is shown in blue in the attached jpg. Firefox Constantly FreezingI have firefox installed on my home and work computer and both are constantly freezing. On average it is happening 2-3 times and hour and freezes all my windows for 15-60 seconds. There is no common trend for what pages are causing the freezes. About half the time it freezes a window eventually pops up, prompting me to stop a script. Every time this happens it also re-orders all my windows on the taskbar.

Yuku forumsSince the upgrade to ff 10.2 it appears that I cannot access any yuku hosted forum whatsoever. For example this one: ... ... ost-trains All I get is a white page. I have tried disabling all add ons. No joy. The problem is not my ISP or firewall either, as I can access any yuku hosted forums using Opera and Internet Explorer browsers. I can access the yuku front page but that is all. Is anyone else having the same problems with firefox 10,2 not loading ANY yuku hosted forums at all? Thanks in advance. C

Copy DVD to dual-layer disc, terrible qualityI want to make copies of some of my DVD, as I use them a lot and I'd like to put the originals away and take them out whenever I scratch up or lose a copy when I travel (don't worry, this is all for personal use and doesn't violate any copyright stuff). One disc of one show - The 4400 - copied just fine. This was on a single layer DVD. But most of my stuff is on dual-layer discs. So I got a stack of Verbatim Azo 8x DL discs and made a copy of one of my Babylon 5 DVD's. Firefox 10 Locks Up ComputerNew machine & install of Win7-64b i7-2600 16GB. New install of Firefox 10+ running in FF Safe mode with all plugins disabled. After fresh start of Windows FF will run fine for a couple of starts. Then on random next start will freeze entire machine including mouse and keyboard, processor seems locked onto maximum usage (as judged by power phase LEDs on MOB). Have let sit for up to 5 - 10 mins but no joy. Only solution is to force hard reset. Running Chrome, IE, no issues. Filter by attachment contentHello, no matter how hard I'm trying to protect my email address from getting unwanted publicity, occasionally some spam have pop up. It's usually one type of email for the certain period of time and if I'm not able to teach antispam filter I just make my own filter. BUT starting this year in January I'm getting really nasty one. It's easy to recognize by look but there's no way teach in-build antispam filter to deal with.
